So, after Punjab and Goa, It's Gujarat where the Aam Aadmi Party is heading. If the news coming out of a 3-hour long closed door meeting of senior AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas, Gopal Rai and few other top leaders on Sunday has to be believed, AAP is booting up for an extensive road-map for Gujarat. Senior AAP leader Kumar Vishwas has been chosen to lead mission Gujarat from the front. The meeting not only discussed the current standing of the party in Guarat, but also charted out a plan up to the booth level. Gujarat is expected to go for elections by this year end.
The party has done a few litmus tests in Gujarat via some rallies and coordinator level meetings. The response that the party got in these rallies may seem alarming for the incumbent government. The BJP is already facing tough time with regional powers like Hardik Patel and dalit agitation standing up against them. There has also been reports of internal conflicts due to unprecedented resignation of past CM Anandiben Patel.
Althouth there has been no comments from BJP on this issue, it seems that the force of AAP in the leadership of a strong face of Kumar Vishwas has been a worrisome news for the party. Kumar Vishwas has been very popular in the state of Gujarat, not only as an AAP leader, but as a poet too. He is believed to have performed in hundreds of Kavi Sammelan in Gujarat in past. In addition to this, he is the only leader in AAP to have a massive support among right winger voters. Kumar Vishwas, a silent star participant in Punjab campaign of Aam Aadmi Party is believed to have turned the table in the last ten days through massive NRI support. Not only did the NRIs did massive call campaign during the last week of the campaign, but tens of thousands of NRIs did actually come to Punjab to indulge in campaign. This was a last time game changer in the AAP strategy that even made Capt Amrinder react against NRIs which worsened the scene for Congress. Kumar Vishwas also campaigned massively in Goa in the last week before elections. He was in fact the only senior leader holding the foot in Goa, where all others were involved in Punjab. It would be interesting to see how things turn for Gujarat BJP from here.
